Welcome Fall...

I can't believe how time flies...
I've been completely detached from my blogging world. :0/ But, I'm back
and I'll be updating over the next little bit. :0)

We have had a wonderful summer. And now fall is here. This morning I opened my windows to crisp, fresh air....admittedly, one of my favorite things.....(sigh...) :0) Welcome back fall.

Summertime in Bear Lake

We have had a lot of fun over at Bear Lake this year with the fam and a lot of time at the beach. My kids and Tawnya's kids are pretty much inseparable...kinda like me and Tawnya. ;0)

This summer I also started dabbling in photography.
I've really had a lot of fun with it. Plus, my kids are the perfect muse. :0) My goal for this next year is to actually have Sean and I in
at least a few of the photos. hehe

Family Campout July 09 (hehe...I'll get caught up eventually) :0)

We found the greatest campsite up Logan canyon this summer. The road was a bit sketchy in several places, but it helped to hold my breath and close my eyes and imagine us on a paved highway somewhere...haha. BUT, once we got there it was well worth it! We had a great spot for all of our huge tents, Dad's camper all our vehicles, 3-4 wheelers and all our junk. It was quite the procession. :0)

Right when we got there, the guys went out to gather some fire wood. And they came back with an entire tree! hahaha....seriously... You can see the pile of firewood behind Mason in his football picture. It was impressive. Especially since we were staying there for an entire day and night. ;0)

The site also had great places to climb and explore. Just a short 4 wheeler ride to fun fishing. We had lots of delicious food and chats by the fire. Mom got to study her map of the world...memorizing every country. :0) The kids and Zoe had a great time too. Even though we used up 2 canisters of mosquitoes spray in the first 2 hours, it was really a GREAT time!! And I can't wait to go again this year...despite my new crazy fear of Bears that my family loves so much. hehe

"Zoo Am-mi-mals"

Perfect weather, all the animals out for us to see, happy children and great company...what more could you want on a summer day?! :0) We all had such a great time!! We saw pretty much all the animals and fun lunch in the shade. Samantha was our tour guide. She helped us find our way all day by reading the map. Jentry found a tiny little green caterpillar and let it crawl on her hand, she was equally grossed out and proud. haha Mason and Kaity were always a step ahead of us...anxious to see what was next. And luckily, there were as many adults as there were kids, so we all had a great time. haha

The carousel was a first my most of the kids. Samantha rode on a Zebra - her first choice and favorite animal of the day. Brinley rode next to Sam on an ant eater....hahaha, cool, huh. :0) Kaitlyn mustered up every ounce of bravery, and with Lydia's help, she rode on a penquin. Wahoo!! She even managed to wave with one hand for a sec. :0) Tawnya helped Mason ride a wolf. He really had a lot of fun even though his face looks a bit stressed...haha. Jentry rode on a sea lion (I think). And Drew and Lori had a sweet ride in the bench. Wahoo!! :0)

The last thing we did was ride on the train. Samantha was talking about it all day, and was really excited to ride, but when we got there she said, "Mom! It's a real train!! I can NOT BELIEVE IT!! I thought it was just going to be a toy train!!" haha It was soooo fun for the kids. Kaitlyn was super tense, but let herself have a great time.

The girls had such a great day. They were asleep withing minutes of being in the car. That's always a good sign. :0) All in all...great day, good times, and can't wait to go again. :0)

Bahamian Paradise

Sean took me on a cruise to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was SOOOO much fun!!! We left on Sunday night and didn't get back until Friday night. We left our children with my sister Tawnya...I have to admit, it was really hard for me to leave them that long! Eek! But, they had a blast while we were gone. In fact, just last night, Samantha asked if we could go on the boat again so that she could stay at Tawnya's. hahaha... Thanks Tawn!!

Anyway...we had the best time!!! We went snorkeling...and Sean was able to dive and swim with a sea turtle...very cool!! The water in the Bahama's is insanely salty....bluh.... So, as long as you NEVER taste the water it is so fun to snorkle. :0) We saw some fun beaches and little shops on shore. And there was soooo many things to do on the boat. Lots and lots of yummy food!! mmmm.... Fun shows to attend, great performers, and a fabulous spa. We looooved the spa!!

I looooved being able to relax that much with Sean. We would lounge on the pool deck and watch the water horizon. Every evening there would be a distant storm on the water. So, it was really fun to watch the lightening, listen to the band and chill...

We met several really great people! I really do hope we cross paths with them again. :0) I enjoy the times when i am reminded of what a small world it really is, and how many wonderful people there are. Thank you Sean for an amazing birthday celebration!! I love you...and...I'm loving being 30 so far!! :0)

Preschool Program

Samanatha's last day of preschool, they did a cute little program. They sang their favorite songs from the school year. Samantha has been singing these songs every day. She is definitely my little songbird. So, she was very excited about singing them in the program. In fact, I don't think she stopped smiling the entire time. :0) One day when I figure it out...I'll post the video.

During the school year, they learned about all the letters and worked on a scrapbook. It's pretty fun. There is a picture of Samantha doing something that coordinates with all the letters of the alphabet. Very fun. :0)

Kaity and Sam were able to play in the big playhouse before we came home. We had a great experience with the Sports Academy and we're excited to be back there next year. :0) Thanks so much Teacher Melinda! :0)

Samantha's Swimming "Show-Off" Day

I think it's kind of funny, but at the Sports Academy Preschool, they have a day at the end of the year where they kids get to show their parents all that they have learned, and they call it "showoff day". Samantha is so cute, she loves swimming. it was fun to watch her. :0) It seems crazy that Kaity will be going to school and swimming too in just a few months. :0\

Coloring.....eggs??

Easter? But, it's June!! Ya, ya...I know. I need to get caught up on all the great things that happened when I had no computer. So...enjoy a small trip through our recent past. :0)

So...we got this really cute easter egg coloring kit from my grandma.
Cute, colors in the shape of little bunnies. Very darling, and a crazy little dye pack. :0)

Sean and I have a really bad habit of letting the girls "play" in the
toy room for about 30 minutes when they wake up early before we get out of bed.
And, on this particular morning, this...

...is what I found. :0) Despite their GORGEOUS smiles,
the girls were fully aware that a consequence would insue. hehe...

Easter morning was sooo much fun! They had fun finding their baskets
and gathering eggs all over the house!! The girls are at SUCH a fun age. :0)

Reading Party at My House!!!

A few months ago, I posted about Samantha's reading progress. And, lots of you were interested in the process!! So...here's what you've been waiting for. :0)

As many of you know, my mom Doreese wrote an amazing reading program that will teach the entire reading process, right from learning the alphabet to reading any book your heart desires. :0) It's called See abc's. She has taught preschoolers - mature adults. This program has been proven to greatly help the beginning reader, the struggling student, the esl learner and even the severely disabled. It connects to every type of learner - the auditory, visual and even the tactile learner. This is the program that Samantha and even Kaitlyn have worked with and we all LOVE it. Samantha has been working at a leisurely pace, is already reading and still has another full year of preschool to go. :0)

Up until recently, the See abc's program has been "tied up" so to say in a big corporate marketing company. So, the owners of the company were limited. But, NOW!!! They are able to market and sell their product how they wish. Which means great savings and opportunity for all of us. Doreese is now going to allow us to host private shows where she will explain her program from start to finish, do demonstrations, answer questions...and it's really fun to listen to her. She's an awesome teacher. You will leave feeling very modivated and empowered. :0)

I am hosting a show next week!!
DATE: Thursday, June 18th.
TIME: 6:30-8:30
PLACE: My house

You are all welcome to come!! You will absolutely not regret it. :0) Also, you can host your own show if you want. :0) Just call me or leave a comment if you're interested.

Thanks all!!

Announcing our furniture company!!!

Many of you know that I have a furniture company. I started it so that I could furnish my own house, but it is really fun! I don't have a show room right now, I have catalogs and websites that you can view the furniture. And, I don't offer delivery, assembly, or installation...but, that means that you get a better deal! :0) It really is fun when you realize how much furniture costs with no overhead!

Anyway, I have finally set up on a blog. www.kaicomfort.blogspot.com So...now, you can all easily find the websites for my vendors if you want to check out some merchandise. And, I'll post any great deals or fun prices for you all to see.

I haven't been doing this for very long, so not many people know about it. And, because it's not the typical furniture store, I think our customer base will pretty much family, friends and friends of friends. :0) I would LOVE you all to help me get the word out!!

Soooo....check it out!! www.kaicomfort.blogspot.com

The much anticipated....

I LOVE to design and decorate!!  And I recently decided that I wanted to upgrade my skills to those that require power tools!  haha...  I have a few friends in AZ that can do ANYTHING  (...Margo and Michelle...)  So, thinking of them inspired me to step it up and do it myself... Samantha's room was my first target.  She has been begging for a pink room for months.  :0)

I started with the texture on the walls because they were literally one huge patch job!  I tried my hand at texturing...my version of holy-smooth (spelling?).  I was really really happy with the way it turned out!  It's hard to see in a picture, but maybe if you enlarge the picture you can tell...  I'm actually going to start texturing the basement myself because I like it so much.

The beadboard trim wasn't horrible to do...it is just definitely a 2 person job.  Holding anything that large over head and secure to the wall...really cool shoulder workout!  So, I'm thinkin that Kaitlyn will get something Align Righton the lower half of the walls instead.  haha

So far, the only bit of decorating that we've got done is her letters.  I bought them white and then painted them all to match her bedding.  I thought it would be cute to hang them from a white rod with a ribbon, but it makes the letters go all wonky and I didn't paint the back...hmmm....
Any suggestions??

Sam's furniture was a fun suprise...I found her dresser, mirror and bookshelf on ksl for just $90 plus a paint job.  We actually made her headboard!!  I know, right?  It was really fun to make!

Anyway, I had a great time!!  I still need to do some more decorating, window treatments, and have her little chair reapolstered.  But, I'm really happy with how it's turned out so far!  :0)

And...most importantly...Sam LOVES her new room!  :0)

Thanks so much Sean, Dad, James and Mike for helping me out throughout the project!!
And thanks everyone else for indulging my little show and tell.  hahahahaha...

Side note:  I'm actually making a few more headboards for a few people as a result...so, if anyone is interested:
Twin: $60 and Full: $80.

Happy Decorating!!
